About Eco-Pup's Eco-Fabrics

Eco-Pup Dog Clothing believes that fabric quality is extremely important - not only for fashion but for sustainability. To help ease the impact on the environment, a garment needs to last for as long as possible.
Eco-fabrics are easy to care for but are more delicate than the average cotton or polyester fabric that can withstand a certain level of abuse. Your dog's Eco-Pup clothing will have its own specific care instruction, and following it will maximize the lifetime and beauty of the garment. Unlike our organic fabrics, the natural and recycled dog clothes are not as delicate and can be washed and dried normally (wash cold, tumble dry low).
Recycled Fabrics
Eco-Pup Dog Clothing's recycled garments are made from 100% Recycled PET material and good quality pre-loved 'people clothes'.
Every Bottle Counts!
The 100% Recycled PET Polyester fabric is made with recycled plastic water bottles. Approximately 2.75 plastic bottles make up each Profile Raincoat! The quality of this fabric is very soft and flexible, so it is comfortable for your pet to wear and run around in. In addition to being waterproof, this fabric is also durable and very easy to clean, which is an important factor for pet clothing!
Organic Cotton
Organically grown cotton basically refers to the way the cotton is grown and manufactured. The harmful chemicals that are put into the ground to grow the cotton is limited, if not eliminated completely. When farming organic cotton, the methods of growing and harvesting are much different. Organic compost is used in place of synthetic fertilizers, beneficial insects and predators are used instead of pesticides, and instead of using harmful herbicides, innovative weeding techniques are used.
Our organic cotton fabrics come from mills that are certified organic by Oeko-Tex (a very reliable company that certifies environmental and human rights standards).
Specifically, Oeko-Tex certifies against the use of:
legally banned substances such as carcinogenic dyes
legally controlled substances such as formaldehyde, softeners, heavy metals or pentachlorophenol
substances which can be harmful to health such as pesticides, allergenic dyes or organic tin compounds
parameters such as color-fastness and a skin-friendly pH value, intended to prevent health problems
